BENTON - What a wild week it has been in the world of college basketball. Things are really starting to take shape in the Top 25 as some teams have worked their way up and some have worked their way completely out of the list. One thing we've learned is Michigan is for real, so I retract my statement from last week that they don't belong in the Top 10. Three straight 30+ victories against high level teams is just insane. I can't wait to see how they match up against the Boilermakers. Duke's young talent continues to impress and looked more like a core of veteran guys rather than rookies against a tough Arkansas squad. Houston suffered their first loss to Tennessee and just narrowly escaped Syracuse. Michigan State might just be the most impressive team on this list to me. The level of speed and agressiveness from Coach Izzo and the Spartans is going to cause issues for the Big Ten. Gonzaga and Auburn both are coming off of 30+ point shellackings from the Michigan Wolverines and hope to bounce back. Iowa State stayed perfected as they annihilated Syracuse on Wednesday by 30. Illinois' shooting struggled in a 13-point loss to UConn at Madison Square Garden. That will drop them down a few spots. Vanderbilt and Indiana move into the Top 25 as both teams refuse to lose it seems. We will see how that truly pans out come conference play. Kansas is back in the Top 25 after remembering how to play basketball. Expect more upsets this week as we move closer and closer to conference play.
